There is a difference in the way Highland clans and Lowland clans are presented in many of our clan sources. This leads us to wonder how similar they really were. Were the Lowland clans really more like English aristocratic families (with the exception of the Border clans, who are portrayed more like the Highland clans)? I found some answers and look forward to sharing my research with you.

I appreciate your work on this topic. I have been studying my family heritage for some years now and it gets confusing. From what I know of Clan Craig is they were from Aberdeenshire. I believe they were a lesser clan but seemed to be influential in some battles. Can you point me to some resources that would allow me to dig a bit deeper? I have a family trace going back to the battle of Flodden where William Craig as well as his father James Craig or Cragy died as well. Keep up the good work.
