50 Episodes! My topic here is a more detailed look at the Jacobite rising of 1745. Paintings of the Battle of Culloden, the final battle of the rising, make it appear that this whole effort was the Highland clans in support of the Stewart dynasty verses Lowlanders/Englishmen supporting the Hanoverians. I did a project with Google Maps to dive into this deeper and here I share some of my observations. It's a little more complex than "Highlanders vs. Englishmen". This is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Podbean.

Unfortunately MacPherson was missed here. They had a unique “role” in ‘45/ Culloden and Chief MacPherson of Cluney was entrusted with what was left of Prince Charlie’s war chest and forced into hiding for nine years before going to France

Clan McIntosh were first to charge at Culloden, the message from above to charge, got lost in the heat of battle, and they took it on themselves to charge, while the other clans were decimated by canon fire, as they waited for the order to charge ,Mcgilvery led the charge. There were between 400 to 600 Mcintosh clansmen fought the Hanovarians.
